In 2019, Whanganui will proudly host the 30th Anniversary of the New Zealand Masters Games - a significant milestone as it secures its space in New Zealand’s Sporting History as the largest and longest running multi-sport event in New Zealand!

The New Zealand Masters Games are open to anyone as long as you meet the minimum age for your chosen sport (usually around 30 years of age!). There are no qualifying standards to participate, just a healthy appetite for fun, trying new sports and enjoying the social element Masters Games are renowned for.

Whanganui looks forward to welcoming you to a spectacular celebration of 9 days of Masters Sports and 10 nights of entertainment at the Games Village, right in the heart of Whanganui's CBD.
